Marketing, fundraising and data protection laws: keeping yourself right

Mihaela Bodlovic, 2019

Obtaining personal data is very valuable for marketing goods and services, however, the question of what you can and cannot legally do with this data remains complex. Expert Laura Irvine (Davidson Chalmers Stewart LLP) dives deep into the subject and gives practical tips and advice.

As more of us are keeping in touch with our audiences, supporters and followers online than ever before, it’s essential to ensure your practices are lawful, as well as to provide privacy, security and transparency to maintain the trust of your audiences.  This interactive one-day course will provide you with a clear understanding of the law, will explore practical examples to help you reflect on your organisation’s current approaches and processes, and will allow you to consider any changes that might be needed going forward.

Laura’s course covers:

  • Lawful data processing
  • Individual vs corporate subscribers
  • Legitimate interest and soft opt-in
  • Cookies, consent and the risks
  • Spam and how to avoid it

… and much more!

Ideal if… you are looking for all-rounded data protection law training or you have already attended one of our regular lunchtime Business Briefings on Data Protection and Marketing Updates and wish to dive deeper into the subject and get your questions answered by our expert.

Laura Irvine is the best speaker I have ever heard on this subject - and I have heard a few! I would prioritise her sessions!
